So I realized yesterday on the way to Temple Square that Pace never gave me the key to our room at the Ronald McDonald house. So Kairi and I had a sleepover. Kairi slept the whole night without having to get her one med at midnight. She was awake at 7 with a big smile on her face. Nurse Jenny got Kairi in her wheelchair and took her out to help at the nurses station. I sat with Kairi for awhile in her room until OT came and Kairi sang "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" for Neal, then she sang it for the rehab drs. and then she sang it for Lisa and Lindsay at PT. Kairi said "ladybug" and "frog" and "orange" and "yellow". If Speech Therapy would ever come she would sing for them too. I am really disappointed in how speech therapy is not really working with Kairi. They are supposed to come twice a day 30 mins before she has her feeds. And instead of them telling me they switched her times around they just show up whenever they want. It is very frustrating to me. And they really haven't worked very much with her talking just taking tastes. Well enough of me venting.
Kairi is doing amazing. She does new things all the time.
Thank you all for everything you all have done.
Love,
Liz & Kairi
