The NP (nurse practitioner) from the Trauma Team came in and told us that ID (infectious disease) said that tomorrow they will take her off of the Vancomycin. Which was used to get rid of the infection she had in her csf (cerebrospinal fluid). And since that will be done they will no longer need that blasted PICC line so they will pull that and use it as a regular IV.
Right now Kairi is sleeping.
Also instead of taking out the drain that is in her head today, the NP from Neurosurgery came in and clamped it for the night. Kairi will go back down tomorrow for another CT scan to check if there is still fluid.
If everything goes well the drain will come out tomorrow and she can wear her helmet and be fitted for her wheelchair.
Love,
Liz

Thanks for the great details. It really helps a lot. I am not sure what her condition is though. Does she recognize you at all? I was glad to hear that she smiled at the music? That was sweet. I will keep praying for her continued progress.
PS... if you need us to pray for certain things, please indicate on the blog. Thanks.
