Sacrament Meeting!

Sacrament meeting was very nice as usual. They talked about when Jesus came and blessed the little child. And a guy played the piano. It was beautiful.

After Kairi got a primary lesson. It was about how Heavenly Father and Jesus love us so much. And are always thinking about us.

One of the Trauma doctors came in and was telling us Kairi was on the schedule for the G-tube tomorrow. He then told us how bad it would be if Kairi pulled it out. Having the G-tube just moved a little bit could cause stomach acid to leak out. And if she pulled it out it could separate her stomach from the abdominal wall. So I decided that we would wait on the G-tube. It is not something she has to have. Having the NG is so much easier to put in. The nurse is going to show me how to feed Kairi and eventually show me how to put the tube back in her stomach.

Kairi is moving much more today. She is sliding down the bed and laying sideways on the bed.

Thank you all for everything!

Love,
Liz

Is Sacrament meeting at the hospital? Is that why Kairi gets a Primary lesson? Just wondering.

Did the doctor really discourage the G-tube or did the risks scare you? Lucas has a G-tube and while those are real risks, he hasn't had any problems like that and he has had his for nearly two years. When the doctors first suggested it I was completely against it, but it was so nice not to have the tube down his nose. If Kairi is going to need the tube feedings for a prolonged period, you should really consider the G-tube. Once she is done with it, the tube is removed and the hole closes on its own very quickly (within hours).
